NamelessleTTer

"Nameless Letter" is an art project that encourages people all over the world to leave personal notes in books that are available to the public.

Imagine you’re at a library and, upon opening a book, you discover a personal note inside. Did someone leave it there by mistake? Maybe, although it’s more likely one of the anonymous messages that make up this art project.

NamelessleTTer incitesstrangers to interact through anonymous notes meant to be left as a sort of bookmark inside a book. To date, all sorts of messages have been left behind: A recipe for a "Monster Milk Shake" written by a little boy was found inside a recipe book; someone else left a Trivial Pursuit question card inside a novel by Philip Roth; and another person thought it would be a good idea to reveal the ending of the final chapter in a Harry Potter story with a note warning about the death of one of the heroes.

Fanta Japan’s Ads

The stars in Fanta Japan’s new ad campaign are the incredibly weird teachers at a very peculiar high school.

This is Fanta High School
This is Fanta High School
Can you imagine what it would be like to have a DJ as a math teacher asking you questions while mixing tracks in the classroom? What about having an invisible teacher? Fanta Japan has created a series of ads set in a high school with some very weird and somewhat selfish teachers. Their students are exasperated. But the high school is really so comical that, when you watch the ads, you feel a bit envious.

A Sad Day for Playmobil

The Father of Playmobil, Hans Beck, is dead. He created the first Playmobil figure in 1974 almost by accident.

He didn’t make them after his own image, it seems
He didn’t make them after his own image, it seems
If you’ve gotten teary-eyed upon reading this headline, you’re probably a Playmobil fanatic, one of those people born 30 years ago or more who used to play with Playmobil figures when they were children. Today, these ardent fans collect the figures, they still have ones from when they were little, and they still play with them sometimes, even though the dolls were first launched with 4 year-old children in mind.

Braille is read using two hands. Is it incompatible with porn?
Is there such a thing as porn for the blind? I’ll bet you’d never thought to ask yourself that. To judge from the photo on your left, you might think there’s already porn in Braille, but that’s not really the case. Although attempts have been made, there are several reasons why it’s hard to make porn using Braille. The first is that you need two hands in order to read Braille, and, as you know, it’s important to be able to use one’s hands while consuming pornography.

What's Valentine's Day Like in Japan?

On Valentine's Day, the guys are the stars. They wake up happy at the thought of receiving chocolates and bonbons throughout the day. At work and in school, there are always some boys who receive more chocolates than others, a sign of popularity. I remember at my school there was a boy who got chocolates from almost half the girls in class.

Toygiants

This book contains photographs and portraits... of toys. Some are so expressive it’s even scary.

What would Al Pacino think about this portrait?
What would Al Pacino think about this portrait?
At first glance, this may look like a practical toy inventory, but Toygiants is actually an art project carried out by two photographer brothers: Daniel and Geo Fuchs who, after seeing Selim Varol’s collection of vinyl action figures (he’s got more than 10 thousand), were inspired to carry out their project: making portraits and photographs of toys.

They began by making portraits of 3 plastic Superheroes: Batman, Superman and The Hulk.

Write and erase on the ceramic pad

There are other ways to care for the environment aside from recycling glass and other containers. Instead of planting a tree, which you know you won’t do anyway; you can take steps to keep those trees that already exist in place. Forget paper post-it notes and classic notebooks, the thing to do now is to write on a ceramic block.
