Its inventor, Richard Wharton, who went on to found The Brown Corporation, was in his tent at the Glastonbury Festival. He urgently needed to use the toilet, but he immediately wrote off the idea of using the festival’s public toilets due to the terrible condition they were in.

Fabriano, An Ecological Trash Bin

It’s a trash bin made of 50 layers of recycled paper and it was created for an exhibition of eco-friendly products held in Milan.

  It’s called Fabriano and, although it’s still a prototype, we wouldn’t be surprised if it soon became a staple product in offices around the world; it’s simple a brilliant idea. It has an impeccable design, it’s shaped like a muffin cup, and the color recalls those charming brown paper note blocks. Not only that, but, it’s also eco-friendly. What more could you want from a simple trash bin?

It’s made up of several layers of recycled paper, which are held up by their own weight, since there’s no external structure to prop them up.
