Blow Up the Balloon

An aromatic balloon is the latest invention in the “air freshener aisle”. So simple, it almost seems like a joke.

If you don’t blow, it won’t go

Although they were created to put an end to foul odors, most air fresheners are as nauseating as the stink they’re meant to combat. To date, no one has invented a revolutionary air freshener that’s pretty and inexpensive and also capable of eliminating the smell of smoke, stale air, or excess humidity without becoming a nuisance.

But this is not due to a lack of variety in air fresheners, there are all sorts of models available: suffocating sprays that smell like everlasting lemon, little vats of oils that won’t let you breath when you burn them, incense that penetrates the depths of your nostrils, overpowering air fresheners meant to look and smell like pine trees... Which do you hate the most?

The latest air freshener to join this list is so simple; it almost seems like a joke. It’s called Fresh Blows and it comes in a capsule available in different colors, depending on the fragrance you choose to diffuse around the room.

Hook the capsule onto the tip of a balloon, like the ones you use at birthday parties. The balloon can be any color or size. Once attached, just blow through the capsule and it will fill the balloon with aromas such as peach, wild berry, lemon… classic air freshener scents.

When the balloon is fully blown up, simply remove the capsule and allow the balloon to deflate. The air whizzing out of the balloon will be scented, of course. Is this a hoax? Apparently not. Although it’s still just a conceptual design, to judge from the comments posted on the blog where we found it, this is threatening to become the newest trend in air fresheners.

Of course, the capsule contains a perfume that is non-toxic (since we’re going to be sucking on it), which is why its designer also suggests we lick the capsule in order to savor the perfume and awaken our senses with just a simple taste.
