They’re light, ecological and made out of recycled (and recyclable) paper. These bottles are the natural successors of plastic containers.
Six colors to choose from
Plastic is one of the most pollutant materials in the world. It’s to blame for much of the debris in the oceans and the death of several species of marine life. How do we plan on solving this problem?
As far as bags are concerned, bags that made out of fabric are slowly replacing the plastic bags that have always been used by supermarkets and grocery stores. In some countries, the use of plastic bags is forbidden, since they generate garbage that takes decades to degrade. If it’s so easy to understand that bags are a primary source of environmental pollution, then why not use the same argument to do away with plastic containers?
Hardly anyone reuses them (it’s also not advisable to do so), let alone recycle them. Some people have set to work to eliminate one of the most common containers from the supermarket shelves: the plastic bottle.
The designer of the bottle is Jim Warner, from Brandimage – Desgrippes & Laga, a global branding and design firm. He has designed these precious water bottles made out of several layers of recycled paper- that we should in turn recycle again. They are much lighter than plastic or glass bottles and easy to ship. They will be available in several colors and their packaging is the perfect container for almost any other liquid.
In the US, only 14% of the bottles used are recycled. What happens to the rest of them? Well, those left over tally up to 60 million plastic bottles that are thrown out in the garbage, generating pollutant waste products.
If that just gave you a start, there’s no doubt about it: you’ll be among the first to try water bottled in recycled paper.
