We take a look again at statistics and now we notice an in-company research at Philips (they know what they’re talking about) which states that 98% of women believe that design is a key deciding factor when making a purchase.
That’s the reason why the Dutch company has formed an alliance with the Swarovski brand to design a range of products clearly aimed for women. Like their 2007 & 2008 collection Active Crystals, memory stick key-rings and pendants, hands-free sets for the car, and jewel-encrusted headphones. The jewel-gadgets fill a gap in the market and they’re already being exhibited at important jewellery fairs.
They say that women consider that you mobile phone is one of the five elements of style… So, fashion and mobile phones have joined for business. For all those women who like to wear “designer” from head to toe, there are the Pret-A-Porter mobile phones. You can have them by Armani, Prada, Versace, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada... Their design is impeccable and they have the imprint of your favourite designer. Of course!
It’s inevitable to mention Apple. They were the first ones to realize that design does matter. Did you ever dream about having an iMac in your room?... Now, the Apple iPod earns honours for being the “reflection mirror” where all the rest of Mp3 players look at. There are types and colours for every need and style. For the hip and trendy, the iPhone is a must-have.
Digital cameras continue to improve design and reduce size so that you can take them in your bag or even carry in your pocket. There are attractive designs feminine enough for men not wanting to "borrow" your camera.
It also caught our attention the impeccable design of few portable hard disks, like My Passport Essential by Western Digital or the Lacie Little Disk designed by Sam Hetch.
