The toy robots were all the rage back in the fifties and sixties. They became the most wanted toy for children. Today, they’re the most searched-for pieces for toy robot collectors.
It’s amazing to learn the many private collections of tinplate robots that you can find out there. Experts say that, once you get hold of one, it’s hard to put a stop to collecting them.
No doubt about it, Japan was one of the greatest producers of these robots. We’ve shortlisted a few among the thousands of them that can be found in museums and internet sites. Most of them are Japanese, but we left some room for other nationalities.
