Flesh eating fish: the latest pedicure trend. In Washington they’ve just discovered that hungry fish are the ideal way to keep your feet in perfect condition
Sharing the water tank with Doctor Fish
If you want to show off perfect looking feet , you know you need to spend some time on them. A pedicure every now and then is a must if you want to avoid those shocking looking feet not fit to be out in daylight. Why not using little hungry fish to get rid of that horrible dead skin on your feet?
There’s a beauty salon in Washington that uses fish to get perfect feet. The customer puts his/her feet in a tank full of fish that feed from dead skin. You leave your feet in there for fifteen to thirty minutes, depending on how much you’re ready to pay (anything between 35 to 50 dollars). And meanwhile, the little fish nibble at feet, eating away dead skin and leaving perfectly smooth feet ready to get a traditional pedicure.
The little fish capable of this wonderful deed is called Garra Rufa -better known as Doctor Fish -, a small tootless carp that , feeds from nothing but dead skin, so when it sees a pair of feet, it doesn’t think twice, it’s the feet or nothing else to eat. Considering the state of some feet you see walking around, we’re sure there must be a few cases of severe obesity amongst these fish.
The inventor of this genius treatment is John Ho, the owner of Yvonne Hair and Nails’ Salon in Alexandria, capital city of Washington state. And it looks that this new treatment is really catching on. Apparently in just four months, John Ho’s little fish have been eating away dead skin from over ten thousand feet. So how about stealing the idea to take advantage of your fish tank.
