Are you bored of seeing yourself in photos taken always from the same old angle? Are you looking for a new way to photograph what’s around you? Seeing things from above is a good way to discover new details. And how about if you could get random pictures, taken automatically, for that extra bit of surprise factor?
And that’s exactly the idea that designer Tsunho Wang offers with his Flying Stick Camera. Do you remember those flying sticks that you played with when you were a kid? This is exactly the same but this one has a camera thatautomatically takes a series of photographs while whizzing into the air.
It works like the traditional classic flying sticks: rub it between your palms and the kinetic energy powers the propeller, then release it and let it fly. Easy done! Once airborne, the aerodynamics of the propeller will keep the camera flying for some time and it captures pictures at set intervals with the frequency you choose between four and eight seconds . Also, while the camera is in the air it uses built-in face recognition technology so that no one is captured unfocused.
As far as we know, this is still just a concept, not sure you can buy it yet. But, don’t you think this is a great idea to see things from a different perspective? You’ll definitely discover something you haven’t seen before, or at least not from that angle!
