This Lucky Bats Mobile was designed by Christian Flensted and inspired by the fascinating flight of three bats under the night sky, and by the fact that many people consider bats a lucky omen. The Lucky Bats Mobile will add a literary touch to any corner of your home, as if you were living inside a Gothic novel.
Bats are the only flying mammals on the planet, and they’re usually associated with dark and gloomy areas, such as the ruins of an old abbey. In the old days, bats were thought o have supernatural powers because of their amazing ability to avoid obstacles while flying in the dark. But, some cultures, such as the Chinese, belief bats attract good luck, especially if they sneak into your bedroom…

Designers’ Bio
Mobiles are a traditional handicraft in Denmark. The Danes have been making handcrafted mobiles for years, however it was Christian Flensted who first started creating modern mobiles for use in decorating homes and offices. He and his wife Grethe, he’s been designing mobiles since 1954.
Their first design, the Stork mobile, was a huge success and has decorated homes all over the world. Christian Flensted is known as the Uromager, a word that is impossible to translate and means something along the lines of "the one who makes things that are fun and in constant motion".
Today, his son Ole and his wife Aase have continued the family tradition of making mobiles.
Flensted Mobiles creates mobiles in different styles and each one is mounted and assembled by expert hands that are skilled at making these pieces. |
