If you’re looking for an original way to redecorate your home without having to paint or make holes in the wall, all you need are some vinyl wall stickers. These decals substitute for classic painted wallpaper.
They’re made out of vinyl, a flexible, ultra-durable material. They stick easily on any flat surface and they’re also reusable.
These little blue critters look like they wouldn’t hurt a fly and you can use them to decorate an entire wall. The package includes 24 vinyl wall stickers of critters, parachutes, bed sheets and umbrellas. Each wall sticker is independent, so you can decide the position and the type of parachute you want for each of the critters. They’ll look great in your room. And, they’ll keep you company!
The wall stickers were created by BLIK, a design studio that develops products in Venice, California. They were the first company to create reusable vinyl wall stickers. Aside from creating their own line of stickers, they’ve also developed products for brands such as Gap, MTV and Land of Nod.
How to Apply the Stickers
Prepare the surface. Clean and dry the surface thoroughly before applying the vinyl sticker. If the wall is freshly painted, wait a couple of days until the surface has fully absorbed the paint.
Prepare your design. Before peeling off the adhesive backing, move the sticker around and change its position. When you see it on the wall, you’ll get a sense of how it’ll look and you may get new ideas.
Rub the back of the sticker with a credit card, a spatula, or with your hands before peeling it off.
Carefully peel off the top of the paper that’s stuck to the back of the vinyl wall sticker.
Apply the vinyl wall sticker. It’ll look better if you hold down the edges and carefully smooth out the rest of the sticker as you press down on it (so as to prevent air bubbles from forming) and then slowly peel off the backing.
Peel off the front of the sticker. It’s a thin transparent layer that serves to protect the sticker so it won’t be damaged inside the box.
You’ve successfully applied your vinyl wall sticker. If air bubbles appear, you can easily remove them by poking them with a needle.

Designer’s Profile
Jan Willem Wennekes is also known under his designer alias Zeptonn. In 2001 he started his own clothing label, Zeptonn Clothing. While this turned out to be a great success, Zeptonn realized after two years that running the company kept him from doing what he loves most: designing.
He turned the whole thing around and became a one-man design army. While his profound love for colors gives the diversity of his work a clear signature, it has also been recognized for its simplicity. Zeptonn creates all sorts of funky designs ranging from t-shirts, posters, logos, button badges and books. And now wall graphics for blik. |
