The BIC Ballpoint Pen Has Been Redesigned As an Eating Utensil for the Office
The pen caps have been turned into knives, forks and spoons. Eating utensils are a must-have if you bring a packed lunch to the office. |

One of this season's star products was designed by Fred, a company that manufactures and sells some of the most original and curious designer products and gifts imaginable.
Dine Ink are like those ordinary blue BIC ballpoint pens we all know and love, except, they're also a pretty set of eating utensils, because the pen caps have been recoverted into spoons, forks and knives.
A couple of years ago these peculiar eating utensils were featured on thousands of design blogs, but unfortunately it was just a protype that had taken part in an online contest onDesignboom. Today you can finally buy a Dine Ink set (not DineInk as the prototype was called) at the some of the planet's trendiest shops.
We love these because they offer living proof that it's possible to keep the spirit of a classic design alive while adding a practical and fun touch to it. Dine Ink is perfect for office workers who sit behind the desk all day, taking furtive bites of last night's leftovers while waiting to get contracts signed or make last-minute revisions... yum.
