Protect Yourself from the Summer Heat with this Portable Heat Stroke Risk Detector
The Japanese have invented a portable heat stroke risk detector that warns you when you’re at risk of getting a heat stroke before you end up fainting from heat exhaustion.
Portable Heat Stroke Risk Detector.
I get the feeling it’s getting hotter and hotter with every passing summer. It’s still only springtime and already we have to wear short sleeves and sandals. By the time summer comes along we’ll probably die of heat exhaustion! In order to find out if the risk of a deadly heat stroke is real, the Japanese have invented a portable heat stroke detector. The detector warns you when you're at risk of getting a heat stroke before you end up fainting from heat exhaustion.
The device is very easy to use; all you do is press a button. With that simple move, it'll start monitoring you, automatically checking your temperature every 10 minutes. The heat stroke risk detector reports results categorized into 5 different levels: almost safe, be careful, warning, red flag, and danger. When it reaches the last two levels, an alarm goes off to warn you of the risk (alarms for each level sound different so that you can distinguish between them). The risk detector will also emit a visual signal using LED lights. And the screen on the device displays current temperature and humidity.
The heat stroke risk detector has a sophisticated tear-shape design with a refreshing blue and white color combination. It fits in the palm of your hand and the strap has an extension so you can take it out of your handbag or wherever it’s hanging from.
The heat stroke risk detector was invented by the Japanese Weather Association in collaboration with Design Factory. The product’s website explains that heat strokes occur not only out in the sun but also quite frequently indoors, in day-to-day life. Plus, with the urban heat island effect and the global warming phenomenon, there is more risk now than ever.
It’s important to exercise special caution with children under age 5 since their thermoregulatory functions are not yet fully developed. Also, older people have a hard time transpiring. It may seem exaggerated but it’s best to take precautions.
