Products Used to Discharge Static Electricity

In Japan, there are a series of products available to help discharge static electricity: key chains, stickers, and even bracelets, so you’ll be protected 24-hours a day.

Are you sick of suffering the effects of static electricity? When the air is really dry, static electricity starts to build up inside your body as your clothes rub up against the car seat, or your shoes create friction from walking on carpeting... etc. If you then touch objects that are conducive to energy, such as a doorknob or a car door, there’s a burst of discharge that produces a disturbing shock.

Now you can relax because you won’t get any more of these nasty shocks. There’s a series of products that discharge static electricity and prevent those "electric" scares. They come in various models and very different shapes:

Stickers
Sparknon X Man (m-kaep Japan): Touch this sticker before touching the "dangerous" object. It’ll discharge static electricity and you’ll avoid the bothersome shock. You can stick it on your computer, on the fridge, inside your car door... You can also take it with you; just stick it in your wallet or on your handbag. It’ll work best if you touch it for 2 seconds before touching the offending object. The sticker is made of silicone and the drawing on it uses titanium oxide. It’s available in red, ivory and green.

Key Chains
B sruni (Pentel): Touch the metal doorknob with this key chain before opening the door. That way you’ll discharge static electricity, and it will also display a drawing of a smiley face on the liquid screen once the electrostatic charge has been completely removed. It’s very compact and you can take it anywhere you like. The Vivitie (Carmate) model will light up to warn you of the discharge.

Bracelets
Sparknon Silicon Band (m-kaep Japan): It’s made out of the same materials as Sparknon X Man, but instead of a sticker it’s a simple bracelet that you can wear all the time. It’ll discharge static electricity given off by your body all day long. There are also many much more elegant designer electrostatic resistant bracelets.
