Ping-Pong Table / Door

Slam your door shut and turn it into a ping-pong table. It’s a very practical and fun invention. Too bad it’s only a prototype.

Those of us who have no choice but to inhabit and share tiny apartments are often interested in "transformer" style furniture. That is to say, sofas that become beds, foldaway tables, stackable chairs, or beds full of drawers. Storage problems are quickly solved with a visit to Ikea.

What’s really a stumper is when you want to get your hands on a large-size toy for your miniature flat and there’s simple no place to keep it. That’s why we love "Door Ping-Pong", a ping-pong table that’s conveniently camouflaged to look like a door. You don’t need extra space to store an enormous table; all you have to do is slam the door (which would already be perfect in and of itself) and the table appears before your eyes.

Play a few matches with your friends and, when you’re done, just flip the table over and turn it into a door again. You may even want to use it as a table in your dinning room.

Designed by Tobias Fränzel, the ping pong table / door is clever, practical and lots of fun. Too bad it’s still only a prototype.
