Trying to figure out how much pasta to make per person is really a tricky business. Does anyone really know how much spaghetti the average person is capable of ingesting? If we go by the quantities proposed on the package, we're sure to end up over-eating, because they always recommend a gigantic portions. If we follow our own criteria, we also end up with leftovers, since we're apt to make more than we need just to be on the safe side.

This new 2-in-1 invention promises to teach us the exact volume of a single serving of spaghetti. This invention won the Reddot Design Award in 2009. It is, on the one hand, a pasta server shaped like a pair of tongs, and, on the other hand, it's a convenient pasta measurer. The handle has 3 grooves on that turn into 3 holes when you close the tongs. Each hole is an exact serving of spaghetti. All you have to do is insert the spaghetti in the holes and let them fall into the pot. It's the ultimate invention for those of us who love this Italian dish.
