Instructions for the Uchiage Hanabi Fireworks Projector

Learn how to use this Japanese product, which is available only on Curiosite.

Ayumi Nakay, our expert in Japanese culture, has translated the use instructions for Uchiage Hanabi, the fireworks projector from Sega Toys, for all the curious people in the world to see.

This product is imported directly from Japan, and it’s only available in Europe through Curiosite. And, just so you understand the steps you have to follow to get it working, here is the instruction manual in English. You’ll find drawings to the right showing the various steps to follow and we’ll explain these in what follows.

1.
Turn your home into a fireworks display!

• Just by inserting a cartridge and pressing a button, you can enjoy a fireworks show at home (use projector mode).
• There are 45 different types of large firework effects (9 cartridges with 5 films each), and 10 types of small firework effects.
• You can also set off effects that you create yourself (includes a kit you can use to create 15 original firework effects)
• In "Fireworks Show Mode,” there are 5 different ways to project the fireworks: rapid fire, one-by-one, random sequence of effects, Starmine effects, effects loop (combines all 4 types of effects).
• In "Fireworks Master Mode", you can create your own fireworks display by choosing 5 of the 4 different types of firework effects.
• You can set the projection to last 1, 2, 4 or 8 minutes.
• It has 4 different sound levels.

2.
The best way to project fireworks

Adjust the projector so that the fireworks are projected in the corner between the wall and the ceiling.
(Optimal distance from the wall: 1- 1.5 m / optimal distance from the ceiling: 2-2.4m)

3.
How to set the fireworks off

(1) First a ball of light comes up accompanied by a high-pitched noise.
(2) It sets off a big firework effect.
(3) Then the big firework effect starts to expand, while smaller effects go off around it.
(4) Finally, the big firework effect slowly fades away and disappears.

4.
