Scan a leaf... |

With this unusual gadget, you can check whether that sweater you bought is really cherry red, or if your turquoise notebook is actually the same color as the sky. This tiny device is shaped like a pen but it’s actually a color scanner. Just like conventional scanners capture images, this gadget is capable of copying colors. From any object.
Unfortunately, it’s still only a prototype, but its inventor, Korean designer Jinsun Park, explained how it works. Just point the pencil at any object (an apple, a leaf, a piece of graffiti) and press the "scan" button. The pen will then detect the colors with its color sensor, and the RGB cartridge will mix the required shades to create that particular hue. Now you can draw anything using the exact shade of your favorite food. It’s even more precise than the Pantone color system!
It’s the perfect invention for designers, artists and creative types. By using the colors around them, they can create many more sensory and visual elements, not to mention how much lighter their paint boxes will be once this gadget is finally on the market...
