This breakfast machine prepares a full breakfast composed of coffee, an omelet, some toast with jam and orange juice.
This is how the Breakfast Machine looks like
It’s every over-sleeper’s dream: to get up and find breakfast is served, nice and warm, freshly made and still steaming hot. Many filmmakers have also fantasized about a breakfast machine, and films such as Flubber, Casper and Wallace & Gromit propose versions of this invention, which, to date, has yet to exist... or has it?
You could say something resembling this machine has now been manufactured in Amsterdam where, just a few weeks ago, an atypical design studio calledPlatform21 embarked upon the Breakfast Machine project. The aim was to create just that: a basic homemade and handcrafted breakfast machine capable of preparing breakfast without human intervention.
The project was successfully completed under the direction of Japanese designer Yuri Suzuki who was assisted by illustrators, mechanics and friends.
The machine managed to make breakfasts non-stop for a full day for the project’s workers and visitors. The breakfast in question was hearty and nourishing and consisted of coffee, an omelet, some toast with jam and orange juice. And all that without having to lift a finger.
