1. Aim and contest
The first edition of the International Messy Room Contest purports
to become a platform where users can share their most chaotic moments and spaces.
On this occasion, the aim is to create a space where those of us who are less-than-tidy
can take pride in our clutter. We are looking for high-quality participation.
2. On-line Participation
It’s easy to participate. All you have to do is post a photo of your messy bedroom
on
our wall on Facebook. In order to post a photo, first you have to become a
Curiosite fan. You must include your full name in the comment on the photo so
that we can identify you.
Participants should keep the following conditions in mind:
a) Photographs may be in color or black and white.
b) Each participant may post only one photo.
c) We will not accept photos that have been retouched with the
help of a computer, photo composite applications or other techniques. Any photograph
that has been so modified will be automatically disqualified. However, changes
to gloss, contrast, or color saturation are acceptable.
d) No people or animals may be included in the photo. The jury
will endeavor to judge the just how messy the bedroom is; people and animals
would only distract the jury.
e) Each participant shall declare and warrant before Curiosite
that they are the sole owner of all author’s rights with respect to the photograph
they are submitting to the contest. By participating in the contest, users expressly
assign Curiosite the rights to reproduction, distribution, public communication
and transformation of the photographic works, which may be posted on Curiosite’s
website. They may also be used in both on and off line communiqués.
f) By submitting their photos, participants also expressly agree
to the terms and conditions outlined herein.
g) Jury’s criteria.
Our team of experts will evaluate just how messy the rooms are based on the
photographs sent. They will be looking to find the most chaotic room. Although
the jury will not evaluate the photos’ technical quality, it’s obvious that a
good photograph can help make the bedroom appear even more chaotic.
The jury will only consider rooms that are naturally cluttered, not those
that have been artificially made to look messy in order to win the contest.
Our jury is made up of:
Alberto Alarcón
Architect and Professor of Technological Innovation at the Alcalá de Henares
Architecture University.
Luis García Kraus
Fashion photographer.
Natividad García
Homemaker with a large family.
Antonio Souto Iglesias
Naval Engineer and expert in the dynamics of fluids.
h) Timeline
h1 Participants may submit photos to the contest starting March
15th 2010 and until to May 22nd 2010 before 17:00, Spanish time.
h2 Winners of the contest’s first edition will be announced
May 27th.
h3 The winning entry will be announced on
Curiosite’s website as well as on the contest’s web page.
h4 The organization will not answer phone calls or reply to
queries with respect to the contest. Participants must wait for the jury’s decision
